Family

Ministry

We have a spirited Family Ministries program at FUMC Chiefland where children and teens can learn about God’s great love through lessons catered to them. During the Sunday morning service, we have Children’s Moment and Children’s Church for K-5th grades. We also have nursery care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Regular youth group meetings coincide with the school year.

Youth is for teens and preteens grades 6-12 on Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5:30pm. We also have multiple activities throughout the year including mission trips, lock-ins, and VBS. Join us for family, fun, and fellowship! To learn more or receive updates about our Family Ministries email Delilah Twombly, Director of Family Ministries, at familyministry@fumcchiefland.org

Ministry

We strive to provide an environment where all people fee free to worship our Lord. The worship team works diligently to incorporate different styles of music, prayers, creeds, and other aspects of worship so all people can have an encounter with our living God.

Fresh Expressions

Ministry

Fresh Expressions reaches new people, in new places, in new ways. Fresh Expressions was created to be a form of church for the changing culture, established primarily for the benefit of people who are not connected with the Church. We seek to be Fresh Expressions of the Church in our community connecting people with God and each other as we follow Jesus on the path of discipleship.

We connect at our community Dunkin Donuts on Monday nights from 5 to 6:30pm for Coffee and Conversation.

We have a safe environment where all people, wherever they are in their spiritual journey, can connect with each other and discuss spiritual topics. We will be discussing how to be a faith community starting April 16th. Join us as we explore life together and a relationship with God.

Sunshine Disciples

Ministry

This group of ladies meets at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesdays. Among their projects are creating quilts for distribution on their visits to nursing homes and Troopons – organizing coupons to be sent to those serving in the military. An annual “Cookie Walk and Bazaar” raises money for various missions they support. You do not have to participate in church services to join the Sunshine Disciples. All are welcome.

United Methodist Men

Ministry

The UMM are a hard-working and dedicated group of men. They have helped a multitude of people in the community with projects such as roof repair, kitchen renovations, wheelchair ramps, and much more.

They also sponsor fund-raising dinners to benefit organizations like Relay for Life, UMCOR ( Haiti ), help for the victims of the recent tornados in the southeast, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Children’s Home, Church Scholarship Fund, the USO and others. In addition to good camaraderie they have the satisfaction of working together, as men of Christ, to promote good will and help others where they can. It is not necessary to be a member of the church to participate in these projects

Community

Ministry

This is a new program for our community. It is an opportunity for any organization who provides assistance to the community to come and share their experience and knowledge with other organizations so that we can all better help those in need. We currently have about a dozen organizations involved. If you or your organization would like to be a part, please contact the office. This is a non-denominational group of churches, non-profits, and interested businesses in the Levy, Gilchrist, and Dixie County areas.

The Tri-County Community Resource Center is located at 15 N. Main St. in Chiefland, Florida. It’s hours of operation are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday -Thursday, and 9:00 AM – 12:00 on Fridays.
